Quad safari in Vrana lake Nature park with the guidance of a guide is a great opportunity to drive around the largest natural lake in Croatia.
The guide will welcome you in Biograd and give you needed equipment and instructions on how to drive safely.
You will enjoy an exciting off-road quad ride through the unique Dalmatian landscape and villages around Lake Vrana. During this tour, there will be 5 to 6 stops so that you can walk, explore nature on your own and take photos from beautiful viewpoints.
You will see the ruins of the old town of Vrana, the place where Croatian kings kept royal crown during the Middle Ages and the fortress of the Knights Templar. You will continue driving on a field road to the Pećine cave, from which the stream springs.
A short drive to Mašković han, the 17th century residence of the supreme admiral of the mighty Ottoman fleet. The guide will tell you an interesting story about the tragic fate of Jusuf Mašković and you will have free time to explore the westernmost monument of secular Ottoman architecture in Europe.
Later you will ride along the lake to the most attractive stop, the Kamenjak viewpoint. This viewpoint is located near the highest peak of the park and you will enjoy the view of the largest natural lake in Croatia, the sea and numerous islands of the Zadar and Kornati archipelago. Check large information boards that tell the story of this region, which is more than two millennia old.
This is followed by a ride on a macadam road to the port of Prosika, which is located at the southernmost end of the park. The harbor was used for mooring boats, and you can also see a restored fisherman’s house from the 19th century. At this location, a strong southern wind causes the sea level to raise towards the lake.
You will drive partly on an asphalted road and partly across field roads along the lake to the Ornithological Reserve. There you can walk on a wooden path through the swamp and observe numerous birds nesting or hiding in the thick reeds.
After that, drive through the forest to Biograd.
This tour ends with a return to Biograd.
