Historical town of Nin guided bike tour will take you to the cradle of a Croatian state. Nin is situated on a tiny island surrounded by walls and connected by bridges to mainland with impressive sandy lagoons, small church that is a sundial, ancient salt works and many other hidden historical treasures.

Historical town of Nin guided bike tour starts in agency office in Zadar old town where the guide will welcome you. You will pick up bike and you will have option to choose among various cycling routes, depending whether you prefer city road, off-road experience or mixture of both.
Follow the guide through Zadar and you will capture best panoramic photographs of the Old town. Continue cycling towards Nin, admire beautiful landscapes of different seaside villages, thick pine woods that surround city of Zadar and stop to see pretty little church of St. Nicholas in which several Croatian rulers were crowned. It is situated on a hill and for that reason it served as a lookout in a times of war.
You will arrive in Nin around 11:00 in the morning and have free time to explore the town on your own. Its historical center is situated on a tiny islet. In 2015 Nin was named as one of the most romantic destination in Europe (European Best Destinations travel website).
Take a walk through town’s historical center and discover remains of the biggest Roman Temple in Croatia. See Condura Croatica – old Croatian boat at the entrance to the port which witnesses long maritime tradition. Visit parish church of St. Anselm and don’t miss out to rub a finger of a bronze statue of the bishop named Gregory of Nin, for good luck. In the very center of the old town, you will find The Museum of Nin Antiquities that displays development of Nin in most important historical periods.
Another thing worth visiting is the Church of the Holly Cross in 9th century. Its perfectly placed windows allow sun rays to enter church’s interior and it acts as a sundial.
Make sure to visit nearby salt works, Museum and House of salt in order to learn more about ecological salt production, manual harvesting and salt crystallization.
After that you will cycle further to see the sandy lagoon with beautiful Queen’s beach, which is 3 km long sandy cove with shallow sea. According to legend, the wife of the first Croatian king often visited this beach, attracted by its beauty.
After that you will cycle back to Zadar old town and finish this tour at the same location where you started it.
