Dalmatia is a seaside region with more than 1,000 islands separated by massive mountain ranges, which separate it from the Croatian mainland, some of which end up in the sea. In this region there are 3 national parks, 3 nature parks and 5 monuments under the protection of UNESCO (Old City of Dubrovnik, Historic City of Trogir, Historical Complex of Split with the Palace of Diocletian, Stari Grad Plain i Cathedral of Saint James).  Major cities are: Dubrovnik, Hvar, Makarska, Split, Trogir, Sibenik and Zadar and several smaller, and all cities are almost exclusively built of solid stone with cobbled streets that speak of the rich history.

Plan of the trip:

DAY 1

Arrival to Zadar. Accommodation in a hotel and a tour of cultural sites in the city: popular street Kalelarga, stone cathedral Sv.Stošija, next to it St.Donat from the 9th century, the Riva where you can witness one of the most beautiful sunsets and the unique Sea Organs and Greeting to the Sun.

DAY 2

Breakfast at the hotel and a tour of historical sites: the Church of St. Simon with exposed body of the saint, which came to Zadar from Constantinople in the 13th century and Church of St. Mary with the permanent exhibition of the treasures of the church known as the Gold and Silver of Zadar, followed by lunch in a famous restaurant in Zadar. After lunch, we will go to a nearby small historic town set up by the tribe of Liburnians in the 9th century BC. The entire old town of Nin is a cultural site with 4 churches dating from the 6th to the 13th century, Roman temples, museums, ancient port, etc…. After the tour, you’ll have dinner in a restaurant or tavern with a rich gastronomic offer and then you will return to the hotel in Zadar.

DAY 3

Breakfast at the hotel and a cruise to the National Park and Nature Park with countless islands and bays where the sea meets the sky, so you think you’re halfway to Paradise.

DAY 4

After breakfast at the hotel and sightseeing of the city of Šibenik, with its narrow, cobbled streets with and a cathedral, which is on the UNESCO list of world heritage, we will continue towards Trogir, the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town in Europe. The old town of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage. After lunch in Trogir we will continue along the path towards the neighboring town of Split, where the historic center of the old city is also included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites with Diocletian’s mausoleum, Jupiter’s temple, the colonnades along the streets, early Christian churches, Romanesque houses, the door of Andrija Buvina and architectural works of Juraj Dalmatinac. After visiting the historic center of Split we will visit the ancient city of Salona, fortress from the 4th century BC that is located on top of a hill and surrounded by cliffs overlooking the city of Split, Solin, Trogir and the whole archipelago. After visiting Salona, you will return to Zadar or Split, depending on the airport from which you return home.

DAY 5

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out and transportation to pre-arranged place.
