Tour to Pag island starts at 8:00 in the morning from Zadar old town where the guide will welcome you. After 30-min ride you will reach your destination – royal city of Nin. The guide will introduce you to this beautiful city where Croatian kings were once crowned. You will go on a tour of the salt pan, and you will learn more about traditional way of producing sea salt in this area. After sightseeing Nin salt pans you will head towards the island of Pag.
This barren rocky island with dramatic karst landscape is connected to the mainland with a bridge.
In the town of Pag your guide will take you into a city walk in order to discover town walls with several gates and towers built for defense in 15th century, Renaissance Rector’s palace that for centuries was administrative center of the island, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary situated on the main town square.
Pag is well known for lace making, salt and cheese production.
In this tour, you will learn interesting facts about traditional Pag lace making that dates from 15th century, protected by UNESCO and you will get the chance to buy most beautiful souvenir.
You will visit cheese factory in order to find out more about specific cheese production and to taste famous Pag cheese with intense aroma and slightly granular structure which crumbles pleasantly and melts in the mouth.
After that you will ride back to Zadar and this tour will end at 16:00.
