Full day boat tour on Zrmanja river from Starigrad is a relaxing cruise in a traditional wooden boat across the sea with the view of mountain tops all the way to the point where Zrmanja river flows into the sea. As the boat enters river canyon, you will admire amazing steep cliffs and emerald green Zrmanja. During this tour you will visit  Novigrad, picturesque town with Medieval fort. ABOUT DESTINATION:

Zrmanja river is one of the cleanest and most beautiful rivers in Croatia as it flows through karst landscape of Velebit Nature park. After 69 km river flows into the sea, not far from the town of Obrovac. It is known for its beautiful canyons and the most famous and impressive one is the one between Obrovac and just before river flows into the Novigrad Sea. This canyon is characterized by 200 m high cliffs that rise above the river and protected as natural geomorphological monument.

Novigrad is a picturesque Dalmatian town situated on the coast of the Novigrad sea that was built on the foundations of a fort located at the top of a hill. Novigrad owes its name to the Roman fort, which was renamed Castrum Novum after its restoration in 1202. In 14th century after the death of the Hungarian-Croatian King Louis I of Anjou, Queen Elizabeta and her daughter were imprisoned in the Novigrad Fortress.

Boat tour on Zrmanja river from Starigrad starts from the port in the center of the town. After you board in the boat you will start sailing in a traditional wooden boat from 1906 following the sea coast line. You will admire the views of mountain tops of Paklenica National park and after a short ride you will pass under the Maslenica bridge. The boat ride continues to the point where Zrmanja river flows into the sea.
The boat will enter Zrmanja canyon and cruise through river canyon surrounded by 200 m high cliffs and then the boat turns.
You will cruise again through Zrmanja canyon all the way to Novigrad sea where is the next stop – town of Novigrad.
After you reach Novigrad you will have 2 hours of free time for exploring the town on your own or swimming in the sea. After this stop, you will be travel back to Starigrad.
Return to Starigrad is from 16:30 – 17:00.
