Beautiful Croatian peaks, parks and historic cities is a private journey that will lead you to the most beautiful nature and culture treasures of Croatia. You will climb the most beautiful peaks in Croatia, offering magnificent views of the beautiful islands, walk around world famous national parks and experience old Dalmatian cities.

TOUR PLAN:

Day 1. Arrival in Zadar
Arriving at the airport, transport to the hotel and leisure time to dinner. Traditional welcoming dinner at the oldest tavern in Zadar. After dinner you will take a walk to one of the oldest towns in Croatia. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Transfer: from Zemunik Airport to hotel in Zadar 20 kilometers / 30 minutes drive

Day 2. Zadar-Libinje-Sveto brdo-Vaganski vrh-Ramića dvori
After breakfast, transfer to the longest and most attractive mountain in Croatia. By arriving at the foot of the mountain you will start a jeep safari adventure. You will drive to Libinje (780 m.a.s.l) from where you will hike trough the magical peaks of Velebit. After a three-hour climb, we reach the second highest peak of Velebit at 1,750 m.a.s.l. The peak Sveto brdo is one of the favorite peaks of all the hikers who have visited this mountain. After reaching the top, free time to enjoy the beautiful panorama. On one side of the mountain are high thick forests, while the other side is completely devoid of vegetation. You will enjoy the stunning view on the Kornati National Park and the entire Zadar archipelago. The guide will tell you why one side of the mountain is in thick forest and the other side is just rock with no vegetation. After the break, you will continue to the highest peak on the mountain. Vaganski vrh is the largest peak of Velebit with 1,757 m.a.s.l. You will descend a very steep trail, popularly known as the Lipa staza to the very heart of Paklenica National Park. By arrival at 555 m.a.s.l. you will have dinner at a mountain chalet where you will stay for overnight.

Duration: 12 hours, 3 hours ascent, 3 hours at the top of the ridge and 3 hours downhill, effectively walking for 9 hours and about 20 kilometers

Day 3. Ramić Dvori-Starigrad-Zadar
After breakfast you will descent down the mountain to the Velika Paklenica gorge. You will find out why this gorge is one of the most famous in the world and the most attractive for climbers who come to this mountain from all over the world. Today, there are about 590 equipped and arranged directions with different difficulty and length (grades 3 to 8c), so each climber can find something for his or her pleasure. Those who are familiar with the movies about the Indian chief Winnetou will maybe recognize some nature scenes from the movie. After lunch you will return to your hotel in Zadar for a rest until tomorrow.

Day 4. Zadar-Plitvice Lakes National Park-Rastoke-Zadar
After breakfast, you will visit the most famous Croatian National Park. The Plitvice Lakes National Park was established in 1949, and in 1979 UNESCO declared it as a World Natural Heritage Site. The park is also on the CNN list of most beautiful lakes and waterfalls.
The Plitvice Lakes are made up of 16 large and small turquoise lakes that flow from one to another with many magnificent waterfalls and thus in a 5460-meter long aerial line. Because of its uniqueness, the Plitvice Lakes are called the „Land of the Falling Lakes where the stones grow“. The growth of travertine barriers in the Plitvice Lakes is a unique case in the world. The world average growth of travertine barriers is only a few centimeters in 30 years, while here they grow in a average of 30 to 90 centimeters in the same time period. After a tour through the park, we will visit the small village of Rastoke, which was created on the waterfalls and rapids of the Slunjčica River. The settlement was originally built as a mill for various cereals and a laundry for woolen items. Today the whole village is oriented to tourism. The Slunjčica River abounds with first-class trout served at a local restaurant. Have lunch and enjoy local specialties as fishes swim in a crystal clear river below the restaurant’s terrace. After lunch you can explore this beautiful place and then you will return to Zadar and have free time until tomorrow.

Day 5. Zadar-Skradin-National Park Krka-Zadar
After breakfast you will visit Krka National Park. The Krka National Park is located near the historic town of Šibenik. The national park is dominated by waterfalls, lakes, remains of Roman aqueducts and camps and numerous forts from the 14th century. The Krka River flows through a 75 km long stone canyon and flows into the Adriatic Sea near Šibenik. Krka was declared a national park in 1985 and is best known for its waterfalls: Skradinski buk, Roški waterfall, Bilišića buk, Brljanski waterfall, Manojlovac and Miljacka waterfall. The second hydroelectric power plant in the world was built at the foot of Skradinski Buk, 2 days after the hydroelectric power plant at the Niagara Falls in 1895.
Visovac is an islet located in one of the lakes. A Franciscan monastery was built there in 1445. By arriving at the park, we take our bikes and explore the park and the surrounding area. The planned route is about 30 kilometers long. Along the way, we stop for a tasting of fine wines, olive oil, prosciutto and cheese. After the tasting, we will return to Skradin and board the boat that takes us to Skradinski buk where our walking adventure begins. We will walk along the park to see all the beauties and enjoy the sounds of the nature. After the walking tour we will return to Zadar for overnight.

Day 6. Zadar-Klis-Split-Trogir-Zadar Game of Thrones tour
After breakfast, begins our Game of Thrones day. Spend the day exploring the most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Split and Trogir. Climb to the top of the fort in Klis. Feel the spirit of history, experience how people have lived before, discover the movie locations of Game of Thrones series and come back with great photos. The Klis Fortress is located on top of an inaccessible cliff. Klis is one of the most beautiful forts in the world. Walking through the fort you will feel the spirit of history. You will find out how the people lived in there and how the fort defense looked like. Split is the largest coastal city in Croatia, known for its rich historical heritage and Emperor Diocletian who built the palace there. Diocletian’s Palace is one of the most preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world. After lunch in the palace itself, we will continue our journey to the nearby town Trogir. National Geographic declared it the most beautiful island city in the world. Trogir is located on an island between the mainland and the island of Čiovo. It was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis in the 3rd century BC. Trogir is considered to be the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city in Central Europe. It amazes visitors with its numerous cultural and historical monuments, small streets and art collections with numerous masterpieces. Since 1997, the entire city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After sightseeing of Trogir, we will return to Zadar and you will have free time until tomorrow.

Day 7. Zadar-Nin-Pag-Zadar
After breakfast, take a bike ride to the historic royal city of Nin. Nin is one of the smallest cities in Croatia, but also one of the most important cities in Croatian history. The center of the ancient city is an islet 500 meters in diameter connected by two mainland bridges. In the sandy lagoon that surrounds the city on one side lies one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Croatia, known as the Queen’s Beach, and on the other side of the city is an ancient saltwork that still produces one of the best salts. After sightseeing of Nin follows a ride to Petrčane where we will visit a beautiful vineyard and taste some famous wines from this area . You will have a lunch on the property and enjoy the beautiful view of the vineyards and the sea. After lunch, we will return to Zadar. You will walk along the streets of the old town and enjoy the beauty of the city and after that we will take you to farewell dinner. After dinner return to hotel for overnight.
