TOUR PLAN:

Day 1. Arrival in Zadar
Welcoming at the airport, transport to the accommodation in Zadar. Zadar is a city with extremely long history located in the heart of the Adriatic, it has represented the urban center of the Dalmatia region for a long period. From the 9th century BC it was inhabited by Liburnians. In the first century it became part of the Roman Empire until its collapse in the 5th century. Numerous remains of Roman urban construction and culture are still visible today and testify over 3000 years of life in Zadar. In the afternoon you will go to a guided city tour with VR-glasses to experience how the city looked in the past. While walking around the city, the assistant will take you for a tasting of Maraschino, the most famous product of Zadar. The recipe for this authentic Zadar liqueur was created and written down at the beginning of the 16th century in the Dominican Monastery in Zadar. The liqueur was also adored by the French kings Louis XVIII, Charles X. and Louis Philippe, and the Russian emperor Nikolai I. The British King George IV. and Queen Victoria sent their warships to Zadar for hundreds of crates of Maraschino for the royal court in London. During its five centuries long existence, many famous persons drunk Maraschino; it was drunk by Casanova, world military leaders like Napoleon, world famous film producer Hitchcock and French poet Baudelaire, world famous actors and singers; they drank it on the first and last journey of the legendary Titanic, and even Honoré de Balzac has written about the famous liqueur(in the 1842 novel “Un début dans la vie”).
Beside Maraschino you will taste another local drink which is also the most consumed spirited Croatian drink. After the tour, the assistant will introduce you to the authentic dishes of this area, which you can try in some restaurants. The assistant will additionally go through the plan of your stay in Zadar and its surroundings. Free time for dinner and return to overnight accommodation.

Day 2. Bike tour on the island Ugljan
After breakfast you will pick up bicycles, equipment and ferry tickets. You will cycle through the city to the ferry port, board the bikes on the ferry and after half an hour you are on the island of Ugljan. Arriving on the island, in Preko, begins your cycling adventure around this green island. The trail takes you through olive groves and thick forests to the highest point on the island from which you will have a unique panorama of the entire island, the Zadar archipelago and the National park Kornati. After the panorama, you will continue driving through the olive groves to the main road that leads us towards the end of the island. Once you reach the bridge that connects the two islands, take a short break and return to the point of departure. On your return, take the paths along the sea across beaches, through thick pine forests and through small places that seem to have remained in history. You will drive through the settlement Kukljica, that has the most beautiful beaches on the island. You will continue through the forest by the sea towards Kali. Kali is a small fishing village that has historically been oriented to fishing. Many locals are recognized world sailors. Most of them are commanders of ships, which shows that they are recognized worldwide as top experts. After lunch, you will continue towards the sea to the starting point on the island, board on the ferry and return to Zadar. By arriving in Zadar, you will return by bicycle to the city center to the departure point. Free time for the rest of the day.
Transfer: walking from the accommodation to the city center and back after the tour approx. 1 hour walking in two times, ferry ride approx. 1 hour in two times, cycling 35 kilometers approx. 6 hours of cycling.

Day 3. Departure from Zadar (END OF TOUR)
After breakfast, check out from the accommodation and, depending on the flight, transport to the airport or leisure time in the city of Zadar until departure to the airport.
