Krka National Park is located near the historic town of Šibenik. National park is dominated by waterfalls, numerous lakes and fortifications from the 14th century with the remains of Roman aqueduct and camps. Through the park flows Krka river and creates a canyon 75 kilometers long that flows into the Adriatic sea near Šibenik. Krka was declared a National park in 1985 and it is best known for its waterfalls: Skradinski buk, Roški slap, Bilišića buk, Brljanski slap, Manojlovac, Miljacka slap. The Hydropower dam located below Skradinski buk waterfall is the second such hydro dam in the world, built just two days after Hydropower dam on the Niagara Falls in 1895.
Šibenik is the oldest Croatian town located along the middle-lower course of the Krka River. The Cathedral of St. James was being constructed for over 100 years. It is the only cathedral in the whole Europe built entirely of stone. No wooden architectural elements were used for its building. Unique system of inter grooved stone plates was used without any use of binding material. It is inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage list.

Departure from Zadar is at 8:00. Arrival to Krka National park at 9:30. Tour starts from Lozovac to Skradinski buk waterfall. In Krka National Park your guide will introduce you to the history and legends of fantastic Krka waterfalls. You will stroll through well organized trails on Krka river, enjoy in peace of surrounding forest, discover most beautiful travertine barriers and visit renovated rustic stone houses and watermills. Lunch break will be around 13:30. Later we will drive to the nearby Šibenik. This city is said to have a medieval heart since Šibenik is among the oldest Croatian town. With a labyrinth of Dalmatian steep streets and its defensive fortresses it is a joy to explore. In Šibenik we will visit St James cathedral, Unesco World Heritage site, and you will learn more about its construction, the only cathedral in the whole Europe constructed entirely of stone.
Return to Zadar at 17:00.
