Tour to Paklenica National park is an easy walking tour with a guide through the canyon Velika Paklenica to the rural estate “Ramića dvori”, situated in a very heart of the national park at 555 m height. Walking trail will take you along the stream through impressive canyon, you will see water mills, enjoy untouched nature of the mountain and walking through beech forest, protected by UNESCO.

SIGHTS AND ATTRACTIONS:
PAKLENICA NATIONAL PARK was proclaimed in 1949 and it is part of Velebit, the longest mountain in Croatia. National park includes canyons “Velika Paklenica” and “Mala Paklenica” that are vertically cut into the southern slopes of the Velebit mountain. The highest mountain peak is “Vaganski vrh” 1757 m. Name Paklenica probably comes from black pine resin called “paklina”, which locals use in traditional medicine, to treat wounds and to coat wooden boats.
National park Paklenica is registered UNESCO World Heritage site since 2017.

Ramića dvori is a rural estate with old house made from stone in mountainous area of Paklenica National park. The estate is only 10 min walk from mountain lodge Paklenica.

Tour to Paklenica National park starts at the parking lot at Entrance 1. The guide will take you through marked trail that passes by the stream called “Velika Paklenica”. You will walk through thick pine forest and not far from the walking trail you will notice remains of the former water mill. Water mills in the park were built in 19th century and they were in function until 60’s.
After twenty min walk you will get to the to the most popular part of the canyon and the very famous rock climbing zone in Paklenica.
There is a half-hour ascent to the plateau of “Anića luka”, from which you will admire the view of the largest rock on Velebit – Anića kuk. On entire Velebit mountain there isn’t any vertical rock so accentuated and prominent as “Anića kuk”. The rock is 400 m high and abounds with over 500 climbing routes.
You will continue hiking to the rural estate “Ramića dvori” on a 555 m height. As you arrive to the rural estate, you will have free time to refresh and relax in a shade. You will admire amazing view of the nearby mountain peaks and thick forests of Paklenica National park.
Later you will descend down the same walking trail to the initial point at the entrance in the national park from which you began the tour.
This tour ends when you reach the parking lot at the entrance of Paklenica.
